I need one of your services.
Where do I begin?
Click the word "Intake" at the top of this webpage, complete the form, and someone will reach out to you. You may also email me directly at lauren@blakefamilyconsulting.com
How are therapy services managed?
All of our sessions are conducted virtually through SimplePractice, providing a secure, HIPAA-compliant environment similar to Zoom. We'll begin with separate 45-minute intake sessions with the clinician for each parent and child participating in the therapeutic process. The frequency of ongoing sessions will be determined on a case-by-case basis and can be adjusted as needed; the clinician will discuss this with you during your intake.
What are the costs of your services and how do you accept payment?
Therapy sessions are $206.30 per 45-minute session and are charged via SimplePractice at 9:00 a.m. on the morning of sessions. If the card on file declines on the morning of session, the session is cancelled.

How are costs split?
There is not a set rule for how costs are split. Some families simply agree to split costs equally, some families use the uninsured medical expense percentages as their guide for splitting costs, and some families have an Order that specifies how costs are to be divided. Please determine how costs are to be split before attempting to initiate services.
Do you accept insurance?
Unfortunately, we do not accept insurance. You will find that most mental health practitioners who work within the realm of family law do not accept insurance but it may be helpful for us to explain why. Health insurance focuses on medical necessity and a quick review of our practice shows that we provide services related to family law. Historically, insurance companies have denied our claims for coverage with the explanation being that these are legal needs, not medical necessities. However, some clients have had success submitting their paid invoices to insurance for out-of-network benefits. You will need to check with your insurance company to see if you have out-of-network benefits. All bills and invoices for therapy can be accessed through SimplePractice.
Do you testify?
Anyone associated with Blake Family Consulting, LLC and/or Blake Family Advocacy, LLC will testify at a rate of $300.00 per hour. Subpoenaed requests and court appearances require a $1,000.00 minimum payment made in advance. This billing includes preparation, travel time, time waiting to testify, and testimony on the dates of appearance. It is recommended that you work with counsel and the court to create a set time for testimony.
